Hello,

Is there any specific formula for pressure vessel's design pressure and temperature calculation?

Or, they are just evaluated by the following considerations:

Design P = 10% operating pressure or 10 psi minimum + static head of the operating liquid

Design T = maximum T of the operating fluid + 50 deg F.

Would be very grateful by getting any valuable suggestion.

Regards

Shahidul,

There is no specific formula for PV design pressure/temperature and what you mentioned are typical formulas based on which such values might be evaluated. Of course, maximum operating pressure should be added to two existing terms.

In fact, in each project's design criteria there are some pre specified relations for estimating such design values.

Shahidul,

No specific rule. Design Pressure mostly related to economic value consideration (mechanical thickness).
