Dear all,

 

Currently I'm working on preliminary concept development for Anhydrous HF storage facility at ambient condition (ambient temp varies between: 24-45^oC throughout the year) in our plant. This AHF will be received in ISO tankers from outside supplier. 

 

What would be the safest and most economical industrial practice for AHF storage facility. 

1. I mean one Carbon Steel MOC tank for bulk AHF storage inside a bund wall arrangement followed by one same capacity empty tank as stand by or for emergency use followed by another empty tank which will acts as a dump tank for the first two tanks in case of pressure relief.  Is this configuration is feasible or is there any better way?
2. Canned centrifugal pumps are preferred for filling and unloading AHF. What precautions need to consider in terms of choosing right pump MOC and suitable valves in the transfer lines?
3. These three tanks will be maintained under inert atmosphere by using dry nitrogen. Tank vent will be connected to dedicated scrubber system with aqueous NaOH as scrubbing solution. 

Please suggest any other safety aspects which need to be considered for this AHF storage and transfer facility.
