I have two HP compressors in which one runs while the other remains standby. The capacity of each compressor is 0.75 MMSCMD with suction pressure of 5.12 Kg/cm2 g & discharge pressure of 80 Kg/cm2 g.The situation at hand demands to run the standby compressor continuously & part of the hp gas has to be sent to the sales gas header after pressure reduction to 10 Kg/cm2 g. What need to be checked from all mentioned sides (process, electrical, mechanical, Instrumentation & safety) ?

We could use a drawing of the system. A P&ID would be best. Are you already running both compressors?
