Dear ,
I have a pressure vessel that is opearated at 2barg
And receive the feed from tank through feed pump (distance 6 km),
The shutoff pres.is 10 barg
Ihave to choices :
1.design the vessel for 10 bar because it is small (15 m3)
2-put pzv set at 4.5 barg (which is gona be a little bit complex for sizing the Pzv)
Thanks

Abdullah,

What is your problem about the system you described?

Abdullah,

Either option can be selected; but option 1 is more reliable than the 2...

Abdullah,

Because in the system of option 1 overpressure scenario from pump shut off position would actually be removed.

You will find it best to design for the pump shutoff pressure. Especially if it is hydrocarbon material. You can check size and weight (KG, shown as cost index) of each choice with applications at my website. Just Google my name to find the site.
