I want to design a wet scrubber to collect vapor when pumping flammable liquid from drum vertically with nozzle so it will not spread to environment. We use Solvesso 100 ™ for one of material. In MSDS flash point 41 degree Celcius. My leader said the planning is use carbon active only as filter.

1. Is it safe? I also think flare stack but are you guys have any idea?

2. How do calculate the vacuum pressure will occur if I know the CFM (cubic foot per minute) of the capacity of the fan. I ever try using Bernoulli Principle but finish with dead end.

Please help me for this problem.

Hi .

Active carbon can be harmful , you need to ensure that self combustion will not take place inside the bed !

For VOC I've been using clean tech like Bio digester .

use your favorite search engine to get some info about this techno ( VOC Biodegradation).

hope this is going to help you
