Hi,

I would like to know what is the difference between odd and even column trays?

Thank you..

It's so simple, it is actually numbering of trays. Odd trays would be 1,3,5,7,9 ...and even trays would be 2,4,6,8,10....so on.

In case of odd passes like 1 or 3 pass trays, odd and even tray will be same i.e. same downcomer counts. In case of single pass trays, odd and even trays will have only side downcomer, similarly three pass trays, both odd and even will have one side downcomer and another off-center downcomer. These odd and even trays are rotated by 180 deg with each other.

In case of even passes like 2, 4, 6 passes, the odd and even trays will have dissimilar downcomer types, e.g. in case of two pass trays if even tray has 2 side downcomers then odd will have central downcomer.

Hope you understand the tray configurations w.r.t. flowpaths or number of passes.
