Hello,
I have pipline of 70 m length of 1 inch with jacket 2inch
In my pipe fluid is fattyacid whose temp. To be maintained at 40 degree celsius and jacket there is hot water at 80 degree celsius.
I tried doing it by calculating hot water requirement by considering 100mm thickness of insulation and then without hotwater jacket what would be my heat loss per length. And whatever would be heat loss that much water i need to give
But then i am very confused what i have done., What thickness of insulation should be taken and also hot water in jacket will lose some heat to insulation.
Please do help.

Hi ,
Probably good if you can share your calculation , our forum members will help you .
Otherwise consider any text book about heat transfer , Kern Process Heat Transfer could be the reference .
Good Luck
Breizh .
