Hello All!

I have a small stream (0,5 m3/h) of wastewater with the following composition: methanol (20,0%) ; phenol (3,0%) and formaldehyde (3,0%) and the all other is water.

I want to reuse the water on my plant but, first, i need to separate the components.

I was trying a Reverse Osmosis but the supplier told me its not possible with this methanol content.

Anybody here could give me some other idea about how could i separate this components from water?

Obs: if i separate only the methanol, the other components could go to a reverse osmosis (phenol and formaldehyde).

Thank you!

Hello!

The recycle water will be used on cooling towers. There is no need to achieve high TDS and COD removal.

Reverse Osmosis will practically separate all phenol and formaldehyde (if the stream is already without methanol).

Thank you !

Hi..

Fenton Activated Carbon Catalytic Oxidation (FACCO) is one of the possible solution....you can check out the literature about FACCO.
