Dear Sir,

I have following 2 queries on Dynamic Simulation of Distillation Column in Unisim Design.

1)When distillation column gets stable in Unisim with entire control system in place, should reboiler duty(positive) and overhead condenser duty(negative ) match exactly always.

2) How to do exergy analysis of distillation column in hysys?

Best Regards,

CS

1) Reboiler duty and condenser duty almost never match.  The flowrates top and bottom are rarely matched to the differences in temperature.   Why would you think that should be the case?  It's not true in steady state.

Exergy analysis cannot be done in most simulators without extra programming.

Dear sir,

But in ideal systems, should condenser duty and reboiler duty match as heat given by reboiler should be rmoved by condenser for energy balance.

No.  The energy balance includes the energy in the feeds and products, not just the energy in the condenser and reboiler duty.
