Hi,
I am looking at initially designing a heated jacketed vessel which uses water at sub atmospheric pressure to moisten textiles (this is a simulation calculation for a different process).
The vessel will be 100L with 25L of water and equivalent 34L (~7kg) of textile in a basket above the water surface.
For heat transfer, I was going to assume 75% of the heat transfer is conducted by the water vapour. Hence calculating the Heat transfer from the jacket through the stainless steel to the vapour to the textile. I would like to use this to see how wide the vessel can be while maintaining the temperature of the textile basket at 70 C +- C. The heat control on the fabric is important as in the actual process the heating fluid will damage the fabric.
Can some one guide me towards how I can calculate the heat transfer coefficient of 34L of moist textile absorbing 2.5 x their weight in moisture (18 kg of water absorbed)?
If you need more information or I have missed out anything feel free to ask.
Any help including documentation to read...would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
