Height Of Steam Through Pipe

If we think about a typical thermodynamics textbook example of infinitesimal velocity inside a perfectly adiabatic pipe then you can elevate the steam to whatever height you want. I've quicly calculated that at 100 km (well beyond geo sationary orbit) you would get 970Pa and 131°C. It will be a little bit of a challenge to build that pipe, but remember that this is a thermodynamics texbook example
Now, for a real plant it does not matter. For 100m in elevation difference (more than most of the plants) the pressure loss due to elevation is just 0.025 bar (for dry saturated 4 kg/cm2 steam)
