Hello engineers! I would like to ask you if you have experience in the integration of the compressors, similar as to heat integration for the heat exchangers?
Thank you in advance!

It is common practice to use the heat supplied by refrigeration systems to process streams. And, of course, heat-pumped fractionators.

My questions is if you for example have an heat assisted pump distillation, which needs x MW shaft power for the compressor. This amount of shaft power can be integrated somehow?
Let me be more clear,
if you have a cold stream and you want to heat, then you use a reboiler
if you have a hot stream and you want to cool it down, then you use a condenser
But you can combine these two streams to exchange heat and then you can avoid the reboiler and condenser.
The same idea can be applied for the compressor?

Process compressors are often mechanically linked to process gas expanders in natural gas processing. Research turboexpander on the world wide web. Sometimes process expansion turbines are used to power electric generators instead of process compressors.
