Good day, forum

I struggle with an explosive gas class according to IEC 60079. I deal with disulfide oil wich consists mostly of dimethyl disulfide and diethyl disulfide. I can not find IEC 60079 class for dimethyl disulfide. Can anyone share a worth link to database with chemicals?

You can search for an MSDS.  If you can't find the information, ask your supplier.

1. I have found some MSDS for disulfide oil and I did not find IEC 60079 classification there. I can not remember MSDS with IEC 60079 class.

2. I am that supplier. I deal with Merox unit where disulfide oil is produced.

UOP might have an answer for you. I don't recall seeing any special requirements.

What is Disulfide oil? Unless we have some data like Minimum Ignition Energy, we cannot classify it. BTW as you may be knowing, Carbon Disulfide is classified as Group IIC alongwith Hydrogen and Acetylene, which is the highest (most hazardous) class.
