HI 

 

I want to know if there is a simulation software which enable me to simulate a Produced water treatment train containing CPI and IGF "induced gas flotation" and nut shell filters

No.  These are physical separations, not thermodynamic ones.  You can easily build your own calculation models from first principles for CPI separators.  You will need vendors for IGF and nutshell filters.

You don't need to create a simulation of its operation to get its sizing and cost.

Hi ,

the only way is to prepare the specification sheets with relevant balances for the vendors to size the equipments and provide a budget price .

Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of this exercise? Are you building a new plant? Or is this just for better understanding of the existing plant?

i'm working in an old oilfield with only API separator to treat the produced water before disposal, and with the increased volume of the produced water, a new treating system is needed,, 

 

And i need something to help me to calculate equipment size and installation cost..... basically and roughly...

Sizing and costing, I would suggest you get someone more experienced to do or work with a vendor . For rough guidance, the following guide should be useful for you.

can anyone help me with calculating the cost of the CPI, Hydro-cyclone, the nutshell filter?

 

I can't find any helpful data on the internet

hi ,

As I stated in a previous post you need to prepare  specification sheets to get quote from vendors ! Again if you want help from the forum members you should be specific .

We have no clue about your process , the flow rate ,the size , the material the equipment should be made of , etc  to give you a piece of advice .

 

Your filter should be a Nutsche filter !

the water analysis

It is required to reduce the oil content to less than 10 ppm 

and to reduce the suspended solids to less than 5 mg/l

 

It is required to install Two treatment train each consist of CPI followed by hydrocylone followed by a media filter " for example  walnut shell filter .." the design capacity for each train should be 50,000 BPD

 

i want to calculate the capital cost and the operational cost for this system..

Try to get a copy of the book in reference : gas-liquid and liquid-liquid separator by Maurice Stewart and Ken Arnold .

With the WW info that you have just given, your proposed process of CPI, IGF and nut shell filters is definitely not suitable.

No offense, but you clearly do not have the info and expertise required to even select the correct process treatment, why are you being arrowed to do this?

If the plant does get built with what you have proposed, it would become a white elephant as the process clearly will not meet the treatment requirements.

If you are being arrowed for the task, I would suggest to find and work with someone with the required expertise.

 

I think the first step is for you is to do a proper wastewater characterization, then based on this wastewater information, come up with a design basis. From this design basis, come up with different possible process combinations and evaluate them. The evaluation should include the capability of achieving the treatment requirement. With the process flow scheme decided upon, you can then start to get budgetary quotations from vendors to help in your compilation of CAPEX costs.

 

You current proposed process will not be capable of meeting 10ppm oil and 5ppm TSS, so there is no point to go to the next step in calculating the CAPEX and OPEX of the system.
