Greetings to all the forum members.

I am tasked with the characterisation of hardness of a water sample. The complexometric titration using EDTA seems to be the most suitable option. However I have EDTA (in the solid powdered form) and not the disodium EDTA with me. Can I proceed further with the EDTA (and not the disodium EDTA) ? Furthermore I encountered various procedures for the characterisation of hardness. What procedure should I follow if I am to characterise ground water which is used in soap industry (for making of liquid handwashes, dishwashing liquid, fabric softener etc.)
