Hi, I am trying to simulate a simple electrolyzer (alkaline electrolyzer) and I was arguing if it is possible by using Aspen Hysys. I need very basic information, i.e. how much electrical and thermal energy it required with different pressure and temperature. As first approach we use an Excel worksheet to do this but I would apreciate to have it directly on an Aspen flowsheet, because we have to add to this system others elements we simulated on Aspen Hysys. Could you help me?

The problem is that HYSYS will be 100% theoretical in telling you the enthalpy of the 2·H2O --> 2·H2 + O2 reaction.  You can't convert that to electrical power directly, because there is an efficiency step (reverse reactions heating the solution, electrical transmission through the solution, etc.  Better to get data from a supplier of electrolysis systems, and build a custom reactor block that lumps all the those behind the scenes details in.
