Aspen Hydraulics

Hi everyone

 

I Have a problem with aspen hydraulics. For those who do not know, this is the pressure drop calculation in Hysys 8.8.

 

context: checking of a steam network (saturated pressure, thermopackage is ASME)

My problem is simple: the inlet stream is vapor @saturated conditions. the inlet stream in the aspen hydraulics block is liquid at the same conditions. 

 

Why? My guess is the thermo package is not the same in hysys en aspen hydraulics. How can i change it? Also, i can change the transition basis from T-P flash to P-H flash which gives me vapor but not the same temperature. 

 

I don't know what to do?

It's simple. Specify the inlet stream pressure and vapor fraction = 1.0. It's only engineering.

If that was as easy as you said, i wouldn't have to do a post. 

I create a stream on hysys with ASME thermal package. But in Aspen hydraulics, i do not know the package.

 

My question is simple: How can i manage the transfer between hysys and aspen hydraulics so as to have the less errors? 

in my mind the transfert package (T-P or P-H flash is in question)!!

Most of the time, temperature is not a critical parameter in hydraulic calculations. Why is your situation different? As long as the phase, flowrate, density, viscosity values are good enough using Bobby Strain's method, why complain? But if you suspect a bug in the program, or need to know more about the underlying calcs of the software, I suggest you contact the software vendor's support team and keep asking them questions until you are satisfied. If you learn something useful from them, share your knowledge with us.
