Hello

our methanol plant is in star-up phase and due to some problems we can not purchase nitrogen compressor in order to heat up our reforming section by circulating nitrogen, to protect the coils and .... do you think it is possible to do the same thing with natural gas instead of nitrogen.

thanks in advance

Would nitrogen pallets be possible to use? Then need a pressure regulator as well.

Some sample pictures from google below

I doubt natural gas will be feasible at all...

Hello, i know this could be too late but, you can use the natural gas compressor to compress nitrogen.

i know old factoty steam reformer of haldo topsoe use steam to heating up priamary . with natural gas very damage for catalyst due to cocking formation

As of start up of reformer you can go for stagnant heatingbwith relatively low rate than nitrogen circulation. Using natural gas for heating up reformer can lead to carbon deposition and early poisoning of catalyst.
Go fot stagnant heating with the rate of 25°C per hour till 500°C then add steam and gas as per the procedure and elevate temperatures
