Hi All

i had an situation in our amine plant, we are facing frequent carry over form the stripper, because of rich amine flow is not going downward resulting high lean loading, It only happen when system is in with gas treating process mean with out gas flow it behave very normal.

Please share the idea andhow to over come the situation   ,

You give our Forum a scarcity of Basic Data and operating information.

We need ALL the information you have at your disposal in order to develop an idea of what could be your problem.  Please give us at least:

  • The type of Amine solution used;
  • The design rich solution flow rate to the stripper;
  • The actual rich solution flow rate to the stripper;
  • The operating pressure at the top of the stripper;
  • The acid or sour gas you are treating with the amine;
  • The diameter of the stripper;
  • The age of the stripper tower;
  • The type of internals used in the stripper;
  • The availability of access to the stripper internals;
  • A detailed sketch of your stripper+reboiler+overheads cooler-condenser showing relative heights;
  • The amount of reflux used (if any) to the top of the stripper and its location;
  • A qualitative and quantitative analysis of the condensate (and reflux) recovered from the cooler-condenser.

Please be clear if this is a recent event and if it has occurred before.  What are the results if the amine solution is reduced in capacity.  Is the rest of the amine regenerating system working well?  Has the gas being treated changed in capacity and/or composition?  A P&ID of the facility would be a great help.

Who designed the facility and how long has it been in operation?

We need ALL the information you have at your disposal in order to develop an idea of what could be your problem.  Please give us at least:

  • The type of Amine solution used;   MDEA 50/50
  •  The design rich solution flow rate to the stripper; 750GPM
  • The actual rich solution flow rate to the stripper;  650
  • The operating pressure at the top of the stripper; normal 07 psig now 15
  • The acid or sour gas you are treating with the amine; co2 24%
  • The diameter of the stripper;
  • The age of the stripper tower; 1 years
  • The type of internals used in the stripper; valve trays
  • The availability of access to the stripper internals; no any
  • A detailed sketch of your stripper+reboiler+overheads cooler-condenser showing relative heights;
  • The amount of reflux used (if any) to the top of the stripper and its location;  01 tray condensed water
  • A qualitative and quantitative analysis of the condensate (and reflux) recovered from the cooler-condenser. no any significant

vishnup11 & Juche:

Why are you guys trying to hijack imrannawaz' thread?

Both of you are free to start your own, specific thread designed to address your specific topic and no one else's.  Please stop using someone else's thread to try to resolve your own issue(s).  Our Forums are designed to address each specific thread - and its owner - and nothing else.  To use another member's thread for your own purpose is to muddy and confuse the issue that the original poster has.  That isn't fair and is plainly hijacking the thread for your own personal reasons and goals.

I'll give you guys a couple of days to start your own specific threads based on your specific topics.  At the end of this period, I'll delete your posts here.

Please reply if you have any problems with this solution.
