I am trying to utilize three phase separator in Hysys to model separation performance and outlet quality yields. However, Hysys keep showing me this error: Carryover Correlation is Incomplete or Input is Invalid. I have checked all the parameters and they are fully filled. Anybody experienced this in the past or able to help?

Many thanks.

is that design phase or rating ?
In both cases you can adopt a ideal model (result based on VL/VLL flash operation) or a more realistic model where some correlations allow to predict carry over flows, normally these predictions are based on geometry and simple correlations, I solve these in Excel with Prode but Aspen has  specific dialogs (see Product Basis Model etc.) which do the same with predefined models,
you should verify that the requested perameters / values have been defined.

Thank you very much for your response. This was in the Rating Tab. I get results when I use the Feed or Product based Carryover setting. I still believe a better result will be obtained if one use the inbuilt correlation method, as I realized my separation efficiency in Hysys does not change no matter the volume of the vessel (which is not ideal). All the input tabs under the correlation model stay green, but the equation will not solve on the last page and it returns the error or warning message I stated in the message above.

Ps: Are you able to share the spreadsheet you used for your calculations?

Thank you once again..

the correlations which I use to predict liquid carryover are those available in literature,

see as example Gas-Liquid and Liquid-Liquid Separators by Stewart, Arnold, but there are also  more recent works,

the different correlations can include densities (vapor and liquid phases) and viscosities,

I calculate these values with the Excel macros exported by Prode Properties,

you can do the same with Aspen but the code is a bit different...

Bobby (Strain) has a code for separators (don't know if it is based on Aspen)
