Dear All,

Is it possible that relieving or flowing pressure of PSV will be higher than MAWP?

Thanks in advance,

Shantanu.

Yes, the relieving pressure is 110% of the set pressure (i.e. 10% over-pressure), while the MAWP may be exceeded by 10% (accumulation)

Hi Shantanu,

You have to be specific about the equipment you are talking about.

There are some equipment like the Storage Tank designed according to API 650, wherein the relief pressure cannot be more than the design pressure of the tank.

Regards
