Dear Experts,
I am not familiar with boiler design and code however i am trying my luck if anyone of expert could offer me a simple advice on the requirement of intermittent blowdown discharge safe location (distance between nearest blowdown valve, BDV to the discharge point) and the discharge design at the open sewer hole.
From my understanding why i think there is such requirement is, intermittent blowdown could sometimes be threatening to the operation personnel as the hot condensate letdown from high pressure to atmospheric pressure at the sewer and likely that portion of condensate may turn to steam which causes violent splashing at the discharge outlet and harming the operation if distance of the discharge location is not long enough and discharge design is not proper.
Appreciate if anyone could advise. Thanks.
