Hi all,

For pinch analysis, I understand from the rule that there should not be any external heating below the pinch.

However, what will happen to the grid diagram when external heating is required for the cold stream below pinch?

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Skylar

Skylar,

The grid diagram is just another way of representing the hx network, that will show the hot utility being used against the particular cold stream.

it doesn't affect anything else that you will do. There will be one node on the hot utility line, which is connected to the node on the corresponding cold stream.
