Flow Compensation In Trip Logic

The flow orifice of process air compressor discharge in our plant is compensated for discharge pressure and but the uncompensated flow is used in controller of the blow off valve of the compressor.
But the process air is heated through a fired heater and the flow at the outlet is pressure and temperature compensated and the compensated flow is used for logic in air flow low trip.
So on what logic do we decide whether the compensated or uncompensated flow is to be used for trip logic

You should really include a small sketch in order to explain more clearly what this process looks like and what the trip logic is supposed to do
