Hi,

I have some issue with vacuum pump connection to the condenser, maybe somebody will know how to solve the problem.

Description of the condenser:

Condenser is connected to the two stage evaporator installation. Vapour from II stage is flowing through separator  to the condenser (tube side at the top). Shell side - cooling water.

Vapour will condense in the tubes and the condensate will flow down to the chamber where the connection for the vacuum pump is.

How to secure connection of the vacuum pump - that it will not suck the condensate?

I have attached two files, vacuum connection is shown. It seems that some special type of the cover is mounted, but I do not what.

Thank you for help in advance.

Tomasz

Hi,

To get a meaningful answer you should supply a PID of your process (evap , separator, condenser , barometric guard ,..) ,  a detailed drawing of your condenser for us to understand your concern .

thanks .
