Dear All,
I am new to refinery plants, and I would like to know, impact of high water content in the hydrocarbon feed to the Diesel and Vaccum gas oil hydrotreating unit,
One thing is very clear for us, every time water comes along with feed, we observe spike in pressure in our feed surge drum whose pressure is 3kgf/cm2 and temperature is 200 degree centigrade. Water is getting boiled and causing pressure rise.
I just want to know, what would be the affect if the water is carried to the hydrotreating and hydrocracking reactors, for reactor catalyst, reactions in the catalyst, temperature and pressure profile in the reactor? Thank you.
