Pressure Vessel Pipe Extension

hope everybody is fine, this is a very hard period....
I have a question related to a VERTICAL pressure vessel:
Capacity approx 30 m3
Diameter around 2,5m
Height around 9 m
At the moment a pump loads the product with a pipe connected on a 3inches top flange.
Due to splash loading effect we are thinking to install a deeppipe extension inside the vessel, in order to load the product below the level of the product.
To do this, we need a pipe long up to 6 meters, 2inches and 1/2
So my question is, is this pipe too long to be hanged only from a top flange ? Can it break due to no supports inside the vessel ?
Thanks in advance for any help

hi ,
Let you consider to install supports attached to the wall to prevent damage during operation , same with additional material at the bottom to prevent erosion during filling.
Check with the fabricator .
My 2 cents

Hi,
Yes, appears the 6 m dip pipe without any support would be subject to damage due to vibration during vessel filling; but to evaluate the criticality of the matter several factors are highly effective such as the fluid velocity inside the pipe, pipe submergence value inside the vessel during the filling...

Hi ,
To add to my previous reply : https://www.eng-tips....cfm?qid=350356
We don't know anything about the fluid and the reason to install a dip pipe , will an angle pipe directed to the wall sufficient ?
Note : don't forget to drill a hole at the top to prevent syphoning .
Good luck
