Hi,

I have a few questions regarding the crystallisation process.

We have dimensionless numbers that describe the type of flow and other fluid properties as well.

I was wondering if this dimensionless analysis has been extended to understand the crystallisation process?

If not, is it even possible?

I actually use protein crystallography, which is a more complex process than the chemical, small molecule crystallography, although they share some of the principles.

Also, I am interested to know if there's a way to describe the chemical properties of the crystallization conditions used in protein crystallography into one dimensionless number?

As an example, the conditions typically used are :

5-35% of PEG 3350, sometimes with ions (MgCl2), a buffer component (100 mM of HEPES) at a designated pH (7.5)

Many thanks!
