Hi,

I am currently doing my final year design project for my bachelors' degree in chem eng. I am tasked with the design of a pressure swing adsorption unit to produce 3000 tonnes per year hydrogen from a feed of a mixture of hydrogen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and methane. So far, I have looked over many papers that model and simulate this process or similar, however, most simulate with programs I don't access to, namely Aspen plus. If anyone can provide me with help regarding this for any simpler ways I can start to model and design this. I have access to UNISIM and matlab as well as a few other programs that are likely not going to be useful in this case.

Thanks,

Liam

Hi Breizh

Thank you for your reply, I have however already seen these papers before and they haven't provided me too much help. The method used in the calculations in the 'how to' guide skips so much working that I have no idea the steps they took for the calculation. Equally the heuristics one just tells you what to do without actually giving any method of how to do it.

If you could provide me any additional help aside from this would be great. I have the flowrates and compositions for the feed and the product, pressures, temperatures and have selected an adsorbent for now at least but have no idea where to go from hre.

Thanks

Liam
