Chemical Engineering has been an excellent versatile experience for me.

Would like to know if any chemical engineer is working as Energy Analyst.

What is that job prospects and what are the challenges, and maybe what are the day-to-day activity?

Currently, I am a graduate student with 2.5 years of process design experience.

Some of my friends who are Chemical Engineers and are working as energy analyst.

They work on the following things (not limited to):

1. Prepare an annual activity plan and present to management concerning financially attractive investments to reduce energy costs.

2. Initiate activities to improve monitoring and process control to reduce energy costs.

3. Analyze equipment performance with respect to energy efficiency.

4. Ensure proper functioning and calibration of instrumentation required to assess level of energy consumption directly or indirectly

5. Improve disaggregating of energy consumption data down to shop level of a firm.

6. Co-ordinate implementation of energy audit/efficiency improvement projects through external agencies.

Regards
