Hi all, just wanted to know if you have any technical information(online links or your own knowledge) as to whether the WSA or wet sulfuric acid process licensed by the likes of MECS, Haldor etc. can replace Claus process in a refinery? THe WSA process is supposed to make sulfuric acid directly from refinery acid gases without the need for making elemental sulfur . So has it been replacing Claus plants? if not, why, any reasons? would like to know the inherent advantages/limitations of this relatively newer technology(not actually that new)

I already have gone thru wikipedia and such general references. I am interested to know how this process can handle the refinery acid fees and the gases which cause issues such as CO2, Nh3 etc.(can form COS, NO etc)
