Hi,

What's a standard way to reduce pressurised gas from 200bar to mbars?

Is one pressure regulator enough for such a big pressure range?

Thanks

Hi,

is it a continuous process or blow down ?

It could be pressure reducing valve(s)  with stages or orifices .

My 2 cents.

Hello  A Kangaris

To help you, I would like to know what process you need to reduce (assuming in one step) from 200 bar to Mbar.. What is this requirement related to any chemical process????

Please give us more information. I think you cannot find a single pressure regulator for such a differential pressure.

Pressure in canister is 200bar and I want to do tank blanketting.

Did you talk to the distributor that supplies your canister?

I wouldn't consider tank blanketing and blowdown to be the same types of operations. If you want to blanket a tank (vent, no vent, valve on the vent?) then I would agree with horatorres that you won't find a single stage regulator that can handle that inlet pressure or differential.

Browse through some standard single and two stage regulator units for gas cylinders.  You should get a feel for the capabilities from that.

When I Googled single stage and two stage gas cylinder regulators, I found this which may interest you.

Hi,

I would contact suppliers of cannister to get input from them  (feasibility, possibility to supply pressure regulators ,...)

Good luck
