I have an i quiry about tube bundle maintenance
When an air cooled hea exchanger has a failed tube and going to plug it
Why it is necessaey to cut the tube from one side of the tubesheet after plugging it?

Dont understand your question You mean to say you have cut the tube after plugging !?how it is possible !how could you reach face of Tube sheet?

I can cut the tube from header backward after 10 cm from tube sheet to be able to separarte the tube from tube bundle

Maybe you can cut the tube in the bundle if you can acess to him, i.e upper row or bottom row. If the tube damages is in the bundle middle it´s not possible.

 

Maybe but if you cut the tube is for not permit the corrosion increase maybe of for to check what if the cause or origen the problem (corrosion, material failure, etc.).

Tubes can be cut or punctured from the inside wall to the outside wall with a special tool inserted into the tube end. Tubes are modified before plugging so that liquids cannot collect inside which might possibly lead to overpressure.
