In pilot operated PRV, I have seen a case where pressure pick up line (pilot inlet line) is connected from other location than main PR valve inlet line.
Although both locations are hydraulically connected, but is there any special purpose for using extra ss tubing for pressure pickup line?

It is "remote sensing", and the main advantage is excessive inlet pressure drop does not cause chattering.
