Hello everyone!
As a young engineer working with developing PIDs. Most of the times, the different types of valves are already chosen.
Could you share with me any interesting document or knowledge how we choose a valve?
To give you a random example: For fuel gas line we use a butterfly valve.

Thank you in advance!

Somewhere your company has pipe specifications. These are usually where you find the proper valves. Or maybe the client provides their own for use on the project.

Thanks Breizh!
I found an interesting one from the engineering toolbox.
Generally, choosing a valve is a task of mechanical engineers?

Hi Bobby, indeed.
But, I was wondering what is the basis of this choice?

Hi,

Choosing the valve type in PID is mostly a task of process engineer...

Check the Isolation Philosophy.

Generally for isolation gate valve is used. For control globe/butterfly based on service and size. Ball valve for ON/OFF service i.e. quick closure.

Fallah,
I am happy that you are telling that is a task of process engineer. For me, the valves are already there.
Chemitofreak,
I like your answer.
