Hello eveyone, my  name is Artur. I am newbie at this forum.

This will be my first question. I have a model of a tray column in hysys. This model works very good, and i have some data from there. Here the question. How can i calculate the equivalent diameter of the same column of packed type only.

I have diff datas of packs too, I just need some methodics or smth. else.

I will be greatful for the help.

Best wishes,

Artur.

This looks like an academic problem. Someone may help you, though.

Hi,

Consider to review the documents attached.

I suppose you have an option for packings using your simulator .

Good luck

Thak you Bobby and Breizh,

I will check the documents that you send to me.

Maybe some add information will help you to give me answer.

I have datas on the most loaded satges and datas like density, viscosity, mole weight and etc.

And have datas of regular pack like specific surface area, specific gravity and etc.

Best wishes,

Artur

Hi,

All the data you have will be needed to solve your problem , together with liquid and gas flowrates .

The diameter is calculated for 80% flooded condition.

Check examples given in the papers and/or use the software CheCalc ‐ Packed Tower Sizing

Good luck
