Hello,

I tried to simulate H2 tank filling in Aspen dynamics and generated a strip chart where i found the temperature increase inside the H2 high pressure storage tank first increases, then stabilizes and then it starts to decrease. the property package is Grayson streed.

I do not know why there is a decrease in temperature inside the vessel, whereas the mass flow and pressure linearly increase.

Would be helpful to have some responses,

Most gases cool when they expand. Hydrogen behaves differently in that its temperature increases when it expands. This may be the phenomenon seen in your simulation. Review the Joule-Thomson effect in relation to hydrogen.

Try another property package. If the supply is at constant pressure, the temperature in the cylinder being filled will always be greater than the source temperature. But it will reduce as the cylinder pressures. Hydrogen doesn't begin to cool on expansion until the source temperature is cold.
