Hi all,

what are the criteria to use the removable spool and spectacle blind?

Also, is ring spacer necessary in pipeline? as without it also fluid can flow right?

Hi,

Let you study the doc attached; you will find your answers.

To me they are the only way to guarantee isolation, I won't rely on valves when you are dealing with some nasty chemicals.

My view, based on many years working in Operation .

In this same line, please could you comment in this statement:
"Before positive isolation can be effected, general isolation of the system is required together with depressurization and purging".

It was ny understanding that this two types of isolation have their own purposes, thus, no needing to perform one after the other.

Kindly appreciate your feedback!

Hi,

Positive isolation means installing blinds. Before you can install them, you need to isolate the system and drain (purge) it.
