Hi,

I am trying to carry out some energy balances in Unisim, comparing them to another data source. The data source I have been given uses 32 °F and 0.08865 psia as a reference point. I was wondering if it was possible to change unisim to use these conditions as an enthalpy reference point?

Hi,

You don't need, your heat balance is based on difference of enthalpies. Whatever reference you should get the same results.

My 2 cents

Does the data source include enthalpy of formation in the calculated enthalpy?  Probably only matters if you have reactions occurring but be aware that all simulators derived from Hysys include this in the calculated enthalpy.  Reference temperature is 25C.
