Hi,

I want to combine 2 liquid streams(pipes) at different temperatures(say 60C and 130 C) into one stream,
do I have to use the static mixer ? Or Can I directly join them together (in this case, will it cause water hammer?)

Thanks !

Depending on the vapor pressure of the respective fluids you should be able to. Can the liquid at 60C maintain liquid state at a higher temp? Are both near their bubble point? Are you pumping the liquids or are they both flowing under the influence of gravity only?

If pumping, make sure you add valving to prevent back flow.

You don't need the static mixer just to combine two fluids together. However, if complete mixing is critical, then a static mixer should be considered.
