Hi all, I have a stupid question about input parameters in rate controlled reaction in Aspen Plus.
I have this dehydration reaction:
2 methanol->DME+water

In aspen I have to insert the kinetik..ok
I choose the power law that is:
r=k0*exp(-Ea/RT)*C

but the r I have to input is referred to methanol?or dme?
Sorry for my stupid question.

I think u got the wrong idea,, the ''r'' actually mean the reaction rate of the whole process , u cant just guess the value... i think u need to measure the Ea(activation energy) first. correct me if i am wrong.
