Hello there

I need help about Multiple stages compressor optimization by HYSYS. There are air fan coolers and 2-Phase separators between each stages. I want to determine number of stages and also optimize duty of air fan cooler, compressor duty and also outlet pressure of each stages. The pressure shall be increased form 0.5 Barg to 329 Barg.

ARM,

Deffinitely we need more input data from your side, in order to be able to help you.

ARM,
Your question is rather common...

Try to check out the compressor section in Experienced-Based Rules of Chemical Engineering, you may have a good start on your simulation and optimize from there...

Dear,
One thing we can do is to run the simulation get it converged and start studying the case studies. Now you are the one who knows everything about the model so you can find the number of variables which are dependents and independent variables (user specified).List all of them in a case study and and check the results in each case and try to optimize based on this practice else go for optimization in that by using spredsheets you can set an objective and do the related calculations in the spreadsheet(same like excel spreadsheet-most of the functions are same) and optimize the simulation with reference to cost or purity or any other which you find better for your simulation case.
