Dear friends,

when we simulate a packed tower by ASPEN PLUS and we use "pack sizing" feature,ASPEN must calculate "mass transfer coefficient" for sure but how can we see this value in the software?
thank you in advance for your guidance.

HI ,. use Rate Based Fractionating column for simulation. u will get MTC in Packed size sheet.
Bye

Dear Prajapat,

Thank you for your guidance.I did what you said but the result are several bainry MTCs. do you know how can we change them to an overall MCT ?
by the way in Diameter sheet of Fractionating column we can select " use calculated diameter" which I think it means aspen would calculate Diameter ( please correct me if i'm wrong)
but there is no value for it in the result page could you please tell me where is this value?

Thanks.

Thank you dear Prajapati.I got my answer but I think it's a littel bit illogical that we can't get all the design parameters with a single column.Radfrac is a powerful tool but it doesn't give MTC and HTC and Ratefrac don't give column diameter.but in accordance with theory both of this columns must calculate these parameters.
any way thank you for your guidance.
