Dear all,

why we are using the different types of fluid packages in simulation ?
Is it only based on efficiency of the equation of the state..or what reson ?

generaly considering types are ? why ?

nowdays am so confusing regarding this issues.,'

Could you please explain anydody ?

Regards.,

Dhanasekaran.R,
My practical suggestion to you is that you use models, including fluid packages, that have been used successfully in your types of systems. When you ask WHY, the reason is quite simple. We do not have an acceptable thermodynamic model that can accurately represent all the possible types of chemical compounds and mixtures that we may be interested in. Thus, if I'm modelling a low pressure gaseous hydrocarbon mixture, I can use a more simple thermodynamic model knowing that my system is quite close to ideal. If I'm dealing with resids from Crude and Vacuum distillation units, I'm dealing with very heavy, non-ideal mixtures of petroleum pseudocomponents. Aqueous systems are also far from ideal. Unfortunately, no single thermodynamic model will yield acceptable results in the general case.
HTH,
Doug
