I am dealing with the "oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane to produce ethylene" and I noticed, after doing many runs, two strange phenomena in this regard:
1- increasing conversion with increasing selectivity, although we know that with increasing the conversion the selectevity to ethylene is expected to be decreased due to the cracking of ethylene with increasing the temp. also the tendency of the reactions to give co and co2.
2- continuous increase of conversion with higher reaction temperatures!.
if any colleague can comment on this please do.
my system is batch with C2/O2/He as a feed mixture. reaction temperature ranges from 600-700oC
