I'm currently doing a project on gasifier design. I found very limited literature on the simulation of gasification reaction kinetics and equilibrium and the all findings are diverging.

Can anybody provide me useful guideline in simulating the gasification process and the use of appropriate software.

Thank you!!

As I know, process simulaiton software could not give the detail simulation for coal Gasifier unit, the most common using for this kind of unit is Aspen plus, please make sure you can find the sample case which provide by the Aspen plus.

Best wish.

yinghong,

That is because gasification is a well guarded proprietary process. The licensors are keeping very tight their experience, and for a good reason: it's their business. I am sure that if you find something you will also keep secret.
Gasification research was first started by Germans during 2nd World War, and really pushed ahead by South Africans during the apartheid embargo. Do you really want to start from scratch? Maybe it's a good idea to contact a licensor.
In the mean time I recommend a very good book on the subject:
GASIFICATION
Chris Higman & Maarten van der Burgt
Elsevier, 2003
