We have hunting in our vacuum tower pressure.
the pressure in the top of the tower is hunting in 30:35 mbar range.
the top temprature is not steady(110:115 c)
*the hunting is reduced when we increase the pressure to 40 mbar
*the feed to the atm unit contains heavy coker gas oil as injection

First Check/Ensure Gauges reading against Master gauge& tapping's non plugging/clarity from inside very very carefully.

If your system's Vacuum pulling done through

1)Steam Venturi Jet Ejector(Educators)Multiple staged with intermittent condensation!

2) Some other Vacuum pulling pumps system!

For case(1)Check if there are any (non condensible's)additional load and /or physical obstruction with foreign material, solids in any of the venturi necks or In-effective Cooling& Condensation taking place.

For case (2) this may be due to the Withdrawing arrangement drive's hunting and that needs to be checked.

Hope this provides some way forward.
