"Batch-Plate Distillation"

                   The assignment in this lab was to find out whether or not it was economically

advantageous to purify 5 gallons of a 50%-50% by volume mixture of methanol and water

being produced by a plant as a by-product.  There was a cost associated with purification

and a profit from the sale of methanol. This value was to be compared with the cost of

paying to have the mixture treated by an outside company.  The dollars and cents of the lab

are not nearly as important as the theory and data collection which you can see here!
