Haslego has owned and operated The Chemical Engineers' Resource Page since 1998.   He is a graduate of West Virginia University's School of Engineering and hold a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering.  After spending time in the chemical process industry as a process and quality control engineer, he accepted a position with Alfa Laval Thermal in Richmond, VA where he serves as a Heat Transfer Specialist.

staffhead.jpg (1334 bytes)      Philip Leckner brings 25 years of experience to the Resource Page.  After beginning with the Linde Company in 1975, Philip spent the bulk of this career as a Process Engineer with Engineering and Contracting firms such as Davy McKee, Raytheon, and presently with Lockwood Greene.  He received his BSChE from Lowell Technological Institute, which is now part of the University of Massachusetts.  Philip's main interests include hydraulics/fluid flow (single and two phase) and process safety, particularly relieving scenarios with piping systems.

 

mukeshsahdev.gif (8648 bytes) Mukesh Sahdev is currently employed by Shell Global Solutions (Malaysia) , Kuala Lumpur as Hydrocarbon Management Consultant . He has worked with Aspen Technology India and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd in various business functions. He has more than 10 years of experience in supply chain optimization, refinery planning and optimization, petroleum refining operations, and refinery unit commissioning. He has proficiency in working with linear programming (LP) tools for refinery planning like RPMS (Honeywell), PIMS (AspenTech). He has worked extensively in the application of LP technology in areas of crude evaluation, crude selection, profitability case studies and project economic evaluations. He has good exposure to refinery scheduling and blending applications like ORION & MBO (AspenTech). He has good experience in the commissioning, operating, and monitoring of Continuous Catalytic Reforming Units (CCRU) and Visbreaker Units as well.  He has good proficiency in technical writing and paper presentations. Mukesh has published and presented a numbers of papers on via the internet, chemical engineering magazines, Refinery Technology meetings, 2005 Honeywell User Conference, and others.  He is a 1993 Chemical Engineering graduate from Punjab University, Chandigarh.

bspang.gif (4963 bytes)Dr. Bernhard Spang is a project manager for heat exchangers in the chemical and process industries at BUCO Waermeaustauscher GmbH in Germany. Besides his main job he is also a faculty member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg where he teaches lecture courses in chemical and environmental engineering. Bernhard's interests include heat exchanger design, heat and mass transfer processes, and thermodynamics.

 

staffhead.jpg (1334 bytes)    Eduardo Vargas is a marketing manager for ExxonMobil Corporation in Argentina.   His current duties include managing the above and underground tank network for ExxonMobil in several countries in South America.  Eduardo finds that a nice mix of management and science helps keep life interesting.
