Validating Binary VLE Data

An explanation of the purpose of this spreadsheet can be found in the feature article "Validating Your Binary VLE Data" here at The Chemical Engineers' Resource Page.  I
recommend printing out or at least viewing this article before using the spreadsheet.  Specific instructions for the use of the spreadsheet are contained within the spreadsheet on the worksheet marked "Instructions".  The spreadsheet is saved as a Microsoft Excel version 5.0/95 sheet so that Excel versions 5.0 through 97 will be able to read the worksheet.

In short, this spreadsheet is designed to take inputs such as critical values, molar volumes, pure component vapor pressures, and your VLE data and performs several thorough (but not really complex) thermodynamic calculations to determine if your data is "thermodynamically consistent".  After all, real data is great, but you have to make sure that the data is trustworthy!  Alright, click on the big "VLE" below to get the spreadsheet.  (right click and "save as")
